Overview of Financial Aid Program

Thanks to the generosity of its donors, Random Farms is pleased to offer need-based financial aid to give more young people the opportunity to participate in the performing arts. Random Farms is only able to offer a limited number of financial aid packages each year, and we expect recipients to take seriously the commitment to the program and to this financial gift. Before applying for a scholarship, please be aware of all policies and processes pertaining to scholarships and to the program for which you are applying. If the performer is not able to complete the program for any reason, or declines the roles/casts for which they were accepted, then the scholarship will be forfeited and you will be responsible for paying back $150 towards the cost of the tuition. In other words, you will need to return a portion of the scholarship money awarded to you.

Application and Notification Process

For Workshops, Jellybeans, Summer Workshops, Classes, and Vacation Workshops, applications for financial aid are due at least one week prior to registration.

For Mainstage and Edge, applications for financial aid are due at least one week before the audition.

All scholarship recipients are required to meet with a member of the Scholarship Review Committee to discuss the program policies. If you receive an award, you will be contacted by a staff member to arrange a meeting time at our Elmsford studio. You only need to attend this meeting once per program.

Terms and Conditions

STANDARD AGREEMENT: Please make sure you read our Standard Agreement in full, which can be found here.

HOW IT WORKS: If granted financial aid, our staff will provide you with a code to use when you register for an audition. To register for an audition, you will need to enter this code, along with a valid credit card. If cast, the code will be automatically applied towards the program's tuition, and your card will be automatically charged for the remaining balance due, which will include a nominal processing fee and any remaining tuition beyond the amount of the financial aid package. IF YOU ARE GRANTED FINANCIAL AID AND THEN DROP OUT OF THE PROGRAM OR TURN DOWN A ROLE YOU SAID YOU WOULD ACCEPT, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING BACK $150 OF THE SCHOLARSHIP. Random Farms takes the casting process very seriously, especially because we are often not able to cast everyone who auditions. When registering for an audition, you will indicate the cast(s) for which you/your child are available and the roles that you/your child are willing to accept. Please note that, if we are able to cast you/your child in a cast for which you said you are available, and in a role which you said you will accept, your financial aid package and credit card will be automatically processed. Random Farms is a not-for-profit organization with limited funding, and this policy protects the organization from financial loss.

CASTING POLICY: Please note that financial aid recipients are subject to the same casting policies as all paying participants. IF WE ARE NOT ABLE TO FIND A ROLE FOR YOU THAT MEET YOUR ROLE LIMITATIONS AND CAST AVAILABILITY, YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED. Please be upfront and candid when completing the audition registration form so that we can make sure to only cast you/your child if we are able to accommodate your schedule and casting preferences.

PARTICIPATION POLICY: Recipients of financial aid are expected to follow the same participation policy as paying participants. If the performer is not able to complete the program for any reason, or declines the roles/casts for which they were accepted, then the financial aid package will be forfeited and you will be responsible for paying $150 towards the tuition. Random Farms is a not-for-profit organization with limited funding, and this policy protects the organization from financial loss.
